Maybe McClatchy laid off one too many copy editors in Raleigh?

The Carolina Panthers' loss actually was to the Baltimore Ravens.

Would agree that a lack of copy editors probably has a lot to do with the error. But still... Yikes!

Is it the copy editor's fault they printed the paper sideways too?

It's the preseason for everyone; not just the teams.

What did Charlotte have? Isn't that a shared operation?

Didn't see a print edition of the Charlotte paper. I believe Raleigh and Charlotte still have, separate desk operations although there have been rumblings about a regional desk in Charlotte.

No, that's my fault. But my excuse is that I'm ondeadline.

How many eyes looked at that before it went to press? I bet only one person looked at it.

Whose turn was it to rotate onto the desk this weekend? The fashion editor? The classical music critic? The mailroom clerk? The business agate clerk?

I can only speak to my limited experiences with papers of that size, but I'd think the front page is looked at by multiple eyes. Also, not reading anything other than the head/deck/scoreline, how much pressure can the Panthers be providing if they lost?

If you're going to make a mistake, make sure it's not in 60 point.
