ESPNEWS is reporting, anyway. Still link-hunting.

    $34.75 mil guaranteed.

And this is ridiculous. If something comes from the owners opting out of the current CBA, I hope they can get a decent rookie salary structure in place.

What's funny is the story talks about how he'll be competing with uber-bust Harrington and Who's-that-guy Redman for the starting QB job. If you're paying a QB that much $$, he better be able to beat out those turds without much effort, rookie or not.

Not ... worth ... it. Not even close.

If this doesn't show how desperate the Falcons are to cut all ties with Vick and move on with Ryan as the face of the franchise I don't know what would be.

But for that kind of money, Ryan better turn into the next Brady or Atlanta is in big trouble.

Time to go find a breeder and pick up Man's Best Friend:

Ryan is rock solid as a QB and a great guy to boot. Good for him.

Given the Falcons history, I'm sure this will turn out swimmingly.

So, you mean he'll either go to jail for dogfighting or be traded somewhere for a couple second-round picks?

Insane money. The Falcons are idiots.

One of my best buddies is a big Falcons fan, and this was the text he sent me about this...

    "Fuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuck."

Jake Long is pissed. Chris Long is smiling.

Wow, this is what the owners wanted with draft slotting. Getting out of control like when JKidd and Grant Hill came into the league with huge contracts and they instituted a rookie wage scale.
