Guess the campaigning didn't work. Again.

I liked this strong analysis from whatever slug rewrote the ap story (or wrote the ap story espn stole from):

"I really don't want to be one or two," receiver Roy Williams said. "I'd rather be picking 31st."

Millen would, too, because such a low pick indicates success.

Of course, if you pick 31st, you're the Super Bowl looser. Guess that's better than nothing, but still......

It's nice to see good work is rewarded. :)

It would still be a heckuva lot better than where they're at now.

Oh, no doubt. I'm guessing, though, that Williams thought that was the pick that goes to the SB champ.

I was there. His actual statement was "I'd rather be picking 31st or 32nd."

"I'll never quit,'' Millen said in an interview with a small group of reporters, including The Detroit News, which posted some of his comments on its Web site. "I can't do that. I don't even consider that. It's the way I'm made."

Boy, does that instill confidence among Lions fans or what.

Ah ha! That makes a lot more sense.

Can we lose the stupid "white courtesy phone" cliche?
That's four threads with "white courtesy phone" in the title line.
Can't you people do better than that?

Would you quit a job where you could fuck up edlessly and never be reprimanded? I certainly wouldn't. And as a Bears fan, I welcome this show of support for Millen. May he be there for years to come. ;)
