TMZ will be there. I don't know if they'll have a helicopter, but they'll have a presence.

If the object of his comeback was to be in a controlled atmosphere, Bay Hill never made sense. It's not a gated community. You can drive public roads to the tees and greens of holes on the course, and about 30 yards past the clubhouse. I know they have rent-a-cops at the two main roads going into the community the week of the tournament checking for credentials and resident ID, but that would have been small potatoes for tabloid leeches. Augusta made sense.
As far as if TW will do a news conference, he's done one on Tuesday the week of the tournament every year, whether he's defending champion or not. We'll see.

The Masters is the best American sporting event to watch on TV, and I thank those codgy pricks for being codgy pricks and allowing me 57 wonderful minutes an hour.

How? For one thing, the credential process closed Feb. 1 and anyone who got one has his/her gate pass already. Think the boys at the ANGC gave an application from TMZ a second look? And if anyone gives his media badge to someone like that, they'll never get credentialed again.

I wonder if the Masters folks will threaten to pull reporters' credentials if they dare ask a question that isn't related to golf.
I wouldn't think they would. But then again, those Masters folks are a different breed. So they might.

Seems odd that Tiger would bring this circus (his first event since the 'shocking' revelations) to Augusta. I figured he'd want to get all of those first-tournament questions out of the way somewhere other than the Masters.

Who cares if TMZ is on the course? Maybe they ask one question and get escorted out.

God, I just remembered how you could see a guy putting live, hear a huge roar from another fairway and just sit there guessing while he puts from where the roar orginated.

    I'm already getting excited.

    Fuck, I love the Masters.

Except when Arnold would miss his annual cut (after about 1980). Then he'd buzz the course in his Citation.

I know... They won't be on the grounds, but they'll be there.

Well, in 2003 when the Martha Burk thing broke out, Hootie Johnson said at the top of his news conference that he was not taking any questions about "that woman thing." The next 25 questions were about the woman thing, and Hootie got into a mini-war of words with Ed Sherman. Neither Ed or anyone else got their credentials pulled. If it's a controversial issue, and it's asked in a civil tone, they're not going to yank anyone's badge.

You don't think they can spread around enough cash to get someone who has a credential to dig dirt for them?

It is a word. Maybe I should have used crotchety.
