There is some subliminal bitterness toward his Cleveland exit contained in that comment by Marty.

OK, here are some pertinent numbers about Barry Sanders in big games.

He appeared in six playoff games, rushed 91 times for 386 yards and one TD -- averages of 64.3 yards per game and 4.2 yards per carry. He ran for more than 100 yards in a postseason game only once (169 in a 28-24 loss to Green Bay after the 1993 season). The other five, he came in under 70. He caught 21 passes for 111 yards -- averages of 3.5 receptions and 18.5 yards per game. The Lions lost five of those games.

His numbers in that NFC title game against Washington, a 41-10 loss -- 11-44 rushing, 4-15 receiving, 0 TDs either way. In a playoff game against the Packers in 1994 (a 16-12 loss), he rushed 13 times for minus-1 yard and caught three passes for 4 yards.
