  5. If my local paper wasn't mostly truncated wire stories with horrible layout, I'd be interested. Plus, I don't care for local stories about people losing their iPhone.

    Are "newspapers are dying" columns the Internet equivalent of the mailbag columns of the old days -- write it when you have nothing else to write?
