    A little intense, there.

What would your movie poster for Old Yeller be?

Whether Marley lives on film or not...
The female lead deals with her issues by taking off her clothes in a magazine. The male lead deals with his by trying to off himself.
Marley's death might be kind of a relief.

How does Marley die in the book?

Old age? I might still take the kids.

Hit by a car? Doggie cancer? Maybe her paw was accidentally slit by Owen Wilson?

It could be worse: Marley could have run away early in the film and Jennifer could have whined about it until the credits rolled.

Went to see it with the niece and my sister. Needless to say the family lab got a lot of extra attention and hugs when we got home.
Not the kind of movie I normally watch, a little to obvious, and I found the scenes in the newsroom to be pretty unrealistic (not to mention the lush digs the family lived in). But it was okay, kind of like seeing someone's vacation photos.
Didn't buy Jennifer Anniston or Owen Wilson as parents, in fact, I think the dog(s) did the best acting in the film.

I haven't read the book. Does the dog die in it?

If Skip and Old Yeller can die, why not Marley?

Yeah, dog dies of old age in it.

Really sad, and great writing, how the author explains it all.
