Legal. Private. Consensual. A bit skeevy perhaps, but on the 1-10 scale of athlete pervishness this would be a 3 or 4. He's 24, not Favre age.

Don't live your life using Deadspin as your moral arbiter.

That legal warning is useless without pictures.

.. But really, Deadspin has toed the legal line quite well here, if not the ethical one. If Daulerio had displayed such vigor to shed light on public officials, I would applaud it. Instead, he's working sources to see if someone older than the age of consent banged an unmarried quarterback. I suppose that's a living, too.

Daulerio is a sports guy. I have no problem whatsoever with him going after this kind of story.

I wish there was a newsguy who went after politicians the way Daulerio goes after athletes and members of the sports media.

Prurient material with no greater redeeming social value?

    Daulerio is a pornographer.

Another one for the J-E-T-S WTF thread. The story is not quite Elvis and Priscilla, but an NFL QB with a 17-year-old girl is certainly an eye-catcher.

Agreed. He's not Roman Polanski, but for a QB who is on the verge of being on the level where he can start raking in endorsements, this will kill him, or at least do some serious damage.

Jumping in the time machine to 1999, NBA superstar Kobe Bryant and his 17-year-old girlfriend disagree.

In many states, 17 is the age of consent. So why would this be a career-killer, Mizzou, even if true. And if a politician can get things done, he can have a harem of 17-year-olds for all I care.

Deadspin is just icky. I don't remember it being this bad five years ago when I used to read the site semi-regularly. Now I try to avoid it because the general tone and mission over there is just so sleazy.

Wasn't he 22 at the time?
