Spnited's head will pop off when he finds out the catcher was Ramon Castro.

If the story isn't out front, you've got to tease from front of sports with a pic of Buehrle. Even if you're not in a market with a major-league team, it's what sports fans will be talking about tomorrow.

Great thing about a no-hitter/perfect game is that you stop what you're doing. I saw it was through six and had to go find it on TV, stop what I was doing. Not much in sports makes me do that.

A perfect game or the Tour de France? Seriously? That's even a debate?

A perfect game happens, on average, less than twice a decade.

Are Buehrle and Johnson the only two active pitchers with multiple no-hitters? I'm pretty sure they are.

    Seriously?
I assume you're a morning paper. By the time a lot of your readers get the paper, the next stage of the Tour de France will be starting or over. And it's a Tour de France that Lance Armstrong has faded in. It's a niche sport whose biggest star (here, at least) is not in the mix.
Even though Buerhle's gem was a day game, it's baseball, it's history and it's rare. People care.
The correct answer is Buerhle. All day long.

Is Nomo finally gone? Then yeah, just those two.

Given all the bad things this is a great day for the country. America needed something like this.

That depends. Did Buerhle strike out Michael Jackson? </old crossthread>

Anyone see a time on the game? Buerhle works quick, so this one was over in what, an hour 10?

Buerhle, Johnson, Nolan Ryan and Nomo are the only guys to do it in the last 20-25 years.

And Buehrle never shakes off the catcher, so Castro deserves a good amount of credit for this.

Interesting question raised by a coworker: Has a grand slam ever been hit in a perfect game before?
