Mariners treat their fans to garbage

    The Mariners, no longer content to simply play like garbage, are planning to give some away this season. Yes, that's right. Come on down to Safeco Field for compost night at the ballpark! Green up your yard! Help the environment! Smell just like the players do after a 15-inning marathon on a 90-degree day!

    It would shock you how many people are probably very excited about this. Here in the Midwest, with the coming spring comes lots of excited talk about compost and mulch piles.

    I wasn't shocked when I read the thread title. After all, Milton Bradley's been treating them like garbage since last year.

    The Mariners may be just as close to winning the AL West as the Rangers, given Texas' issues in middle relief with O'Day, Ogando and the Golden Girls (Oliver and Rhodes).
