Marge vs. the Monorail: The best Simpsons ever?

    Also:

    I Love Lisa ("I choo-choo-choose you! And there's a picture of a train!")
The City of New York vs. Homer Simpson ("All we have is Mountain Dew and crab juice." "Ewwwwwww ... I'll take the crab juice")
And I can't find the title, but the one where Homer and his mom reunite, only for Mom to have to go on the run again. A nice, if bittersweet, ending that recalls the best of Futurama.

That's what I loved about it. It was the end of Homer as the harmless dope. the whole episode was just so dark and nilhilistic.

"Frank Grimes, or as his friends called him, Grimey..."

    I always remembered it being:

"Oh, Andy Capp. You wife-beating drunk."

    Mr. Black.

  6. The Halloween episodes ... Haunted Treehouse or whatever ... are among my favorite because they're so dark.

I love the Simpsons but considering they've been on for like 20 years now dating back to the Traci Ulman show, I can't even imagine picking a favorite.

This is going to sound dumb, but the "Treehouse of Horror" episodes seem too cartoon-y to me.

I've always thought of The Simpsons as a sitcom that happens to be animated.

I really liked the Grimey one, too. Specially when he started singing the Hey Song when he fell asleep at the funeral.

And the diorama one, where Ralph wins but bends his wookie, was priceless.

I also really liked the Stonecutters episode, the Who Killed Montgomery Burns episode and the one where Bart and Ralph become friends.

My favorite's always been the one where Springfield gets a casino.

Best line? When Marge gets addicted to gambling and starts spending all her time in the casino and Homer has to make Lisa a costume of the state of Florida for a school pageant, which looks predictably ridiculous. Lisa says, "I'm a monster." Homer replies, "No Lisa, the only monster here is the gambling monster. I call him Gamblor, and it's time to save your mother from his neon clutches."

The second best line is at the school pageant, where Lisa and Ralph are given trophies as the two students whose costumes are so bad they obviously had no help from their parents. Ralph, whose costume consists of a piece of paper taped to his chest that says "Idaho," says, "I'm Idaho." Simple, but hilarious.

The City of New York vs. Homer Simpson is number one on my list with the Frank Grimes episode a close second.
