Or rather, MLB has informed him of a problem with a recent drug test.

Read some news stories from Tampa early this week that Manny had been a wonderful addition to the Rays in terms of attitude and work ethic. Basically, he was out to prove that he wasn't done as a player.
My thoughts at that time were, it always starts out great with Manny then turns to crap. I guess the Rays will be the last team that gets sucked in by Manny-mania.

All-time great hitter, and all-time "greater" weasel ...

Busted twice for banned substances. Does that completely ruin his chance of getting in the Hall?

Both were towards the end of his career, but it's going to be hard for most voters to overlook getting caught twice.

So given the choice between rehab and retirement, he chose retirement. With any other player, this might have surprised me. But, hey, it's Manny.

What's the length of time for a second suspension?

He already did a 50 day suspension, right? Doesn't a second violation earn you a much longer suspension?

Manny (along with David Ortiz) tested positive in 2003. He was suspended in 2009. Now, he gets hit again. The guy is a Hall of Fame cheater, but that's about it.

Second suspension would have been 100 games.
