I can't even begin to parse what you just said there. Sock puppet? Kermit? Printdust?

At first I couldn't tell if you seriously think Jeter will finish with a .310 average.
Then I read the rest of this thread.

speaking for myself, i'd say jeter/yankee fans should be THRILLED if he can stay in the .280 area. that should be just fine for him to maintain his place high in the lineup. and be good enough for girardi to keep jeter at shortstop. i'm figuring his sure-handedness will spare jeter from ever becoming an 'error machine,' which is the only way i believe his primary defensive shortcoming (lack of range) will be what drives him out as yankee shortstop.

no, only continued offensive ineptness (.260, weak grounders, rare line drive hits for extra bases) will lead to THE END.

but i'll be shocked if he ever hits .300 again. at his age, jeter fans should not get too greedy. just hope he can maintain at about .280; it's the only way to ensure his end won't be bloody.

Once upon a time, the Yankees had a shortstop (a HOF shortstop!) that hit .273 for his career, including 6 seasons under .260. This SS never hit more than 7 homers in a season, and stole 20 bases just once. I'm talking of course, about Rizzuto.

Jeter has a long ways to go before his bat isn't playable. The Yankees will allow him to play as long as he wants to.

Nope, although I'd love to be Jeter's biographer.

Maybe, but I don't think he has anything to worry about, he's a lot smarter than A rod.
