Me and a little core of four or five of my college pals do this every other summer. Even though were almost all married with kids (one holdout), we still try to manage the biennial hall pass because it's the only time we can really see each other. We live all over the country.

We've done Tahoe/Reno, Breckenridge (twice), Vegas and Albuquerque.

We rent a house with a pool table. Beats being in a hotel because then you can be together just hanging out even when you aren't "doing something." We eat. Drink. Argue about baseball. Go to casinos. Go to baseball games. Rent bikes. Go rafting. Play Wii.

    It's really fun.

Were talking Asheville NC for next time.

  2. Seeing as how I always travel alone, I would have to go with the destination being more important.

You're also not the person who started this thread, who was looking for ideas for him and his friends.

    But hey, whatever, right?

Sure. And fortunately for my group, many years ago, the downtown Harrah's provided enough winnings to make bail for one of the boys.

Have been on just a few over the last forty years (yes, I'm that old)

After coming back from working in Switzerland in the early 70's, I went skiing in Austria with a German buddy who worked in the same hotel

Skied for about five hours every day. Went to dinner with said friend and about 10 others. Went to a club until around 2:00 a.m.

Got up the next day and repeated it all for 27 days.

My brother and I did a month long camping trip in Atlantic Canada back in the early 70's.

Checked into campsite, drank beer, found a pub, did more beer. Got up the next day and headed to our next town

In '85 an architect buddy of mine and I drove to Tampa for a week.

Schedule was simple: golf in the morning, Jays spring training game in the afternoon, a club that we discovered in Clearwater in the evening. Absolutely fabulous week.

Last one was a weekend in Boston in the early 90's with about eight guys. Jays were in town but the best part was seeing Boomer Wells closing down our hotel bar every night.

Now my best road trips are with HC and yes, I will hand in my man card.:)
