Managers not safe - Pine Bluff, Ark., news

    From The Pipeline:

    The Pine Bluff (Ark.) Commercial laid off its managing editor today in a cost-cutting move. The publisher will now fill both roles.

    I keep waiting for a publisher to lay himself off. that would save a ton at most places and nobody in the newsroom would realize for at least a month.

    just publishers in general. Even though I've worked for some really good ones, let's face it, you could probably save, on average at smaller papers, three FTEs for every publisher.
