Man avoids death penalty because jury wasn't black enough

    The point is that if they were random -- i.e., in the only way we could be CERTAIN no shenanigans are afoot -- you'd get some squirrelly results. Because the jury in question is well within the realm of what we'd see if nothing untoward had been done, I'm hesitant to infer racism on the part of the prosecutor.

    It's not necessarily racism on the part of the prosecutor, so much as he's counting on racism to help him get a desired result.

    Okay, put them in jail. They committed a crime, they should be punished. I am not against the idea of jail as you must think, just killing people.
