Yeah, I guess I didn't mean bastard in the personal sense. I've never met the guy. I've just not heard good things about his opinions.

Well, he has them. Lots of them. He isn't shy.
But he is seriously one hell of a good guy.

It originally worked on film back in 1988, moddy...

FWIW-the original blew the sequel out of the water.

I really enjoyed Hairspray and The Producers films in recent years, but I'm going to wait for this one to come to HBO in a few months.

Shouldn't she be seeing Mamma Mia on the girls weekend?

That was also before it was a musical. That being said, I enjoyed the new Hairspray a lot more than the John Waters version.

I went and saw Mamma Mia this afternoon (mostly because I didn't want to fight the crowds at The Dark Knight) and liked it. It was funny where it needed to be, serious where it needed to be. There was something left to be desired when it came to most of the male singing voices but the women who sang in the movie were phenomenal.

I thought it was decent and I'll definitely see it again. I just thought it lost a little steam as it got to the end.

Then again, the play lost steam toward the end, until the postscript, that is, when the three-song burst brought the house down.

James Bond just lost his luster.

  10. I just got back from seeing it. I thought Meryl was phenomenal in it. Plus, it looked like she had an absolute blast. Pierce Brosnan's voice wasn't awful; it just didn't fit the movie very well. I did think he was good in it, though.

A Meryl Streep film that isn't critically praised? Who knew?

    I loved Baranski in it.

Fun to watch. Lots of eye-candy...land and human.
