    Forty let go, including about 15 newsroom employees. Is this the beginning of layoffs across the board for Lee?

    From what I have heard from more than one place, the answer to your question is yes.

    The article made it sound as if there were other major cuts because of its focus on the declining stock price. But I hadn't heard of any.

    Geez ... my condolences to everyone involved.

    Layoffs at the Chicago Tribune today. And they're bracing for more at the LAT.

    Greg Bryan and Jill Torrance on that list ... two really talented photogs who I worked with in Flagstaff. Unbelievable. I fucking hate this business.
