    Can Metallica's set be...

    Call of Ktulu
    Orion
    To Live is to Die
    Pulling Teeth

I figured Axl would show up at the start of his set, make it through one song, get pissed off because the NFL only gave him 34 minutes to get through "November Rain," and storm off the stage.

and you are going to laugh at me...

I think the Foo Fighters would be a great choice.

I don't think Coldplay would be a bad choice.

I can't imagine them ever picking the Beastie Boys.

Jay-Z would be awesome. We'll see if it ever happens.

Kanye West. He's an established corporate shill, so the NFL should be comfortable with that.

The more I think about it, Jay-Z would be incredible.

They would never in a million years let Kanye up there. But you get Jay-Z up there with Beyonce and one of the other people he's done duets with (I'm guessing they'd nix R Kelly as well...) I think they could pull something off that almost everyone would like.

Is he going to play 99 Problems? Of course not... Prince wasn't going to play Darling Nikki either... :)

Prince doesn't meet the 1980 criteria.

He's older than you might think.

And Rose were to play, which he won't, Izzy better be part of it.

  11. Anyone other than Mellencamp would make no sense. (for this particular Super Bowl, that is)

Guessing 2014 will be an array of New York artists. Jay-Z and Alicia Keys could do Empire State of Mind there.
