Well, her hits are old enough to qualify as golden oldies.

The dream would REM reuniting for one big Super Bowl show. But that's not going to happen.

I'm stunned Bon Jovi hasn't done a halftime yet, though I suspect they'll get the Meadowlands game.

Super Bowl halftime is for using the restroom, getting something to eat and drink, and making second-half bets. That is all.

  6. How 'bout Lady Gaga?
Like Madonna, only younger, more hip and relevant.

I could have sworn Bon Jovi did one... Maybe it was the pre-game one...

I think it's safe to say the football crowd isn't Lady Gaga's target audience, but she is the younger version of Madonna and has even stolen one of her songs...

I'm surprised the Foo Fighters haven't done one.

    Oh - "hits"

The NFL is in a bind because it's been about 20 years since they started amping up the halftime show with big names. They've pretty much exhausted the list of those who were big before then (The Who, the Stones..) everyone since has done it.
But really..you "ban" Janet Jackson and bring out Madonna? In Indiana?
I'd go with Marlon, Jackie, Tito, Randy and Jermaine.

Hey, what do you mean "Madonna? In Indiana?" She's a hearty Midwestern girl. In fact, I believe her plan is to sing the hits of John Mellencamp.
