Mac vs. PC, the commercial wars

There is a certain too-school-for-school vibe you get from Mac people; I could see backlash.

There was a great segment on "This American Life" a few months ago with Hodgman and his newfound celebrity as the PC guy. I download the podcast version of "TAL," and I happened to be listening to this one on a plane. I tried not to laugh out loud, but in my attempts to stifle myself, I was convulsing so much the woman sitting next to me was about ready to flag down an air marshal.

 

Hodgman is one of those guys who should be better known than he is. Such smart comedy, and so well done.

Love it whenever he appears on The Daily Show.

 

I don't get it. I mean, I felt it come out. But I don't see it.

 

i got my first mac back in '97. owned a mac until two years ago when i bought a PC.

i like macs better because i know 'em better and can fix them myself. i also really never had to worry about catching an STD with a mac, which, i can't say about freakin' PCs.

but, i must admit, i'm not a big fan of OSX, which i have at work.

 

What do you know?

 

i know macs, and i know PC infections ... but other than that? not much.

So, we are all in agreement: PCs are better than Macs.

 

nope. i'm going back to mac next time i buy one.

 

Hardware's the same. Microsoft's OS is not superior to Mac OS ... or several other operating systems, for that matter.

Anyway, being from Seattle, I feel obligated to root PCs on.

Seriously, I like Windows better. Just how I am.
