Sheldon spent $100 million on the 2012 presidential election, and had his ass handed to him. Ha.

Now he's dumped $140 million into a paper that will quickly prove to the world, yet again, just how inconsequential newspapers have become when it comes to impacting the daily lives of Americans, much less cajoling them into supporting a cause. As if he couldn't have learned that lesson from the NYT's anti-gun editorial that proved to achieve nothing.

Granted, Sheldon makes something like $1 million an hour in pure profit, but still, at some point the spending of so much money tilting at windmills deserves public ridicule.

Did the sale include the property? If so, is it particularly valuable land?

Well, that wouldn't be too hard.

Schroeder is gone from the Review Journal management team. There's a NYT story out there, but I don't have the link.

Unless I misread that mealy-mouthed piece of garbage, he doesn't actually admit he's Clarkin. He does acknowledge, "mistakes were made"-style, that a pseudonym was used -- among other flagrant ethical errors.

For what it's worth, JournalismJobs has 8 job postings for the Journal-Review, and a few are for more than one open position. This whole saga has been insane.

All that may mean is that the new owner was willing to increase the newsroom budget and/or unfreeze frozen positions. You need some context there before passing judgment.
