A blind item from today's NY Post:

    Just Asking
WHICH columnist for a sleepy tabloid - whose physical stature is as small as his ego is large - is quite the prima donna? Before his recent speech and book-signing at a library in Connecticut, he presented a list of demands, from the mundane (a glass of water, a reserved parking space) to the persnickety (no round table, no tablecloth) . . .

It would have been a better item if they stopped with 'prima donna.' The book stuff is pointless.

If you are doing a signing the table request stuff makes sense.

Any presumptive demands like that are unacceptable and oozing with look-at-me chutzpah.

You have to be a human enough to respect that even people who work in bookstores are professionals and know how to pull off a signing.... BTW, with much bigger authors (in every way conceivable) that that assclown.

Wow, he wanted a glass of water, a place to park, and a table to his liking. What a douche!

Agree that's it's overkill to point this out. But given the Midget's sustained self-aggrandizement, it's hard to resist bringing out the heavy artillery.

If he'd ask for a bowl of M&Ms with the red ones all taken out, I can understand calling the guy an asshole over this. These seem pretty reasonable.

This is standard stuff in any appearance contract. You can't leave that stuff up to the library/bookstore or -- God forbid -- the publisher, who will sure as shit screw up a cup of coffee.

The item makes the Post look petty and mean. Oh but it is, so that's how it comes out.
