    Home Depot.

Or maybe Bed Bath & Beyond.

    I don't know. I don't know if I'll have enough time.

Whatever happened to Sears? Target carries that kind of stuff too. Power tools are easy to find, if you know where to look.

  4. This was poorly thought out from the word go.
At this point, Lowe's is fucked either way.
It's fucked for pulling the ads and catering to the biggoted shitbags and its fucked for opting to sponsoring the (non-mainstream) show to begin with and pissing off the blue collar, rednecks.

Why not boycott all the companies that pulled out due to pressure from this group?

And yet, pedophile-targeted Toddlers & Tiaras still has no trouble selling its ads.

Toddlers & Tiaras? There's really such a show?

    OMG WHERE DO YOU LIVE?

Don't google it if you're on a work computer. It's pretty much child porn.

    1. They couldn't run that many ads in a half-hour or hour show on a nationwide basis. I call BS.

    2. No one knows why these companies did not have their ads on. The local cable company's equivalent of the traffic department probably placed their spots elsewhere, unintentionally.

    That's the thing.

These companies have media agencies that buy their ads. Likely, not a single company, or agency, specifically bought this show.

If you want to buy an ad on a specific show, there's one price. But, what they usually buy are "run of day" ads. They are set at a lower price per ad, but can pop up at any time, on any show. You buy a certain number of these ads and they alternate them throughout the day, throughout their shows.

An ad could also show up on this show through an ad buy from the local cable company. And, it would be the same thing, a run of day ad, not a buy on this particular show.

Now, not that this particular show should be controversial, but one of the things a good media firm does is avoid putting you in these situations.

You can specify that you don't want your ads on particular shows. But, it's an opt out, not an opt in.

Most companies don't want to be involved in politics of any sort. Politics are divisive. You're going to turn some people off, and if you're a mass marketer, you can't afford this.

That said, I probably would have just left the ads there if I had "bought" one already. Much easier to say, "look, we advertise on this network. Short of obscenity, we don't make judgments based on the content of the individual shows on the network. The presence, or absence, of our ads should not be read as a particular endorsement -- or lack of endorsement -- for any cause, political campaign, or value. We're just trying to sell power drill, and want as many people as possible to see our ads."

By pulling the ads, they've made the issue more prevalent.

Or what about TSC? Don't they sell drills?
