Louisiana apparently doesn't need libraries

A state that has a $25 billion budget and eliminates a measly $900,000 for libraries should be ashamed of itself.

Our dickhead mayor Rob Ford wanted to slash the library budget for the city of Toronto and he met the wrath of Margaret Atwood whose online and public speaking campaign stopped this budget cuts pretty much dead in its tracks.

But then our mayor probably hasn't read a book since elementary school.

 

YF, I will just point out that when discussing a budget cut, you don't have to say where you'd cut elsewhere to replace it. You can say where you'll raise more revenue.

Isn't Louisiana one of the states who plan to refuse a fully funded Medicaid expansion for its poorest residents?

Why take billions of free federal dollars when you can cut $900,000 from the state budget and shitcan some librarians who will, most likely, never workin that field again.
