Speaking of Texas, they just put to death a guy with 61 IQ. Yup, 61.

So funny that people who are against the death penalty are usually the first to hope that a prisoner is killed in prison.

Well, he passed the Lennie Small test. So, you know, clearly not retarded.

Yeah, if that had any remote basis in reality that would be really funny.

I'm generally not a fan of the death penalty, but it irks me that he was able to cut a deal. I don't want him having any say whatsoever in what happens.

For all you Green Mile fans, Loughner is not home free yet.

The plea deal he struck in federal court only covers the three federal charges he faced: the attempted assassination of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and attempted murder of her two aides. He could still face the death penalty if Arizona prosecutors decide to go forward with their own case for the six murders.

The State of Arizona has the death penalty, and is willing to use it:

They couldn't find a better poster boy.

Yes, they could still try him in state court.

No, there is no freakin' chance they will do it.

Justice is served by killing the retarded.

Arizona could certainly try him, but they won't. He'll end up in a Supermax prison somewhere (or in a medical prison facility depending on the results of whatever assessments they do).
