According to the Baltimore Sun's Roch Kubato (in his Orioles blog), Jorge Arangure is leaving the Washington Post to be a senior baseball writer for ESPN the Magazine.

    True.

Edit: I mean true he's leaving. I do not know if there is an opening or not.

I would think they'd hire somebody, unless you promoted from within... the only two names I've seen on WaPo baseball stories are Barry Svrluga and Jorge.

  4. He's been there for about 11 seconds, hasn't he?

You're right. When'd he come from Bergen Record, just last year?

I think Jorge has been there as long as the Nats have been in operation ... three years?
He's a great kid and a very good writer. Good move for him.

Anyone know what's going on with this? UVA/VT beat guy Adam Kilgore has been filling in, but is that permanent?

    Yes, I think it's more than a fill-in.

Is this the guy who was part of the hot dog eating contest on TV vs. the AP writer? Good writer, bad eater. Apparently.

That was him. And I thought he beat Ginsburg, who btw is a fantastic fucking guy.

Thank God for the DirecTV baseball package. Otherwise, I might've miss that one...
