  2. Exactly...I happened to be sitting next to a veteran NBA scout, we talked for a few hours, I slipped in a few questions about the guys I was covering, and all of a sudden I had the opinion-type quotes I needed for my story.

    If the player is not a senior, NBA scouts aren't allowed to comment on the record until after they declare for the draft.

    Just ask Danny Ainge.

    Not sure if there's a rule about seniors or not.

    Your best best might be a Bilas or Franschilla-type. Or maybe an NBa analyst-type. Steve Kerr was great for this stuff until he joined the Suns front office.
