I have been looking for a full-time Sports Reporter job for six months, as I'm sure plenty of others have been. Good luck to all of you, by the way.
I prefer to cover NCAA and/or professional sports, but I also have a strong background in covering high schools. I am trying to get hired by a daily newspaper with a circulation with at least 25K.
I'm also looking for possible work as a Sports Copy Editor/Page Designer or perhaps as a Sports Editor.
I'm not sure if it's appropriate to use this board for a Position Wanted ad. But I figured, why not take advantage of it?

My name is Bruce Bourquin. I live near Anaheim, Calif. I earned my Master's degree I Communication from Cal State Fullerton and my B.S. in Journalism from San Diego State University. My e-mail address is: bobi78@juno.com and Twitter's BourquinMan. I am also on Facebook.

I have 10 years of sports reporting experience, writing about preps, colleges, some pros and minor league sports. This includes four years at The Sierra Vista Herald/Bisbee Daily Review in Sierra Vista, Ariz., 75 miles SE of Tucson and 3 1/2 hours east of Phoenix (http://svherald.com/sports) and the Freedom Comm.-owned Porterville Recorder (http://myopr.com). During the past 3 1/2 years, I have worked as a freelance reporter with The Daily Pilot (L.A. Times-owned daily) in Costa Mesa and The Orange County Register, as well as The Riverside Press-Enterprise and AOL-owned Patch.com. I wrote a story on the 2011 NCAA Fullerton Baseball Regional for The Associated Press. I've also written stories for NHL.com, Newsday, Junior Baseball magazine and others.

I have plenty of experience with photography, page design (InDesign and Quark), copy editing, online/digital/multimedia work, social media, etc. I also have some video shooting and editing experience, but that was done from 1999-2001 while I was a TV intern at KGTV in San Diego.
