The best thing about Palin running is it would be entertaining as hell.

But I'd rather have a decent republican candidate than be entertained.

Gallup Poll: Romney, Palin Lead Smaller Republican Field
    Thursday, 26 May 2011 08:44 AM

WASHINGTON— White House hopefuls Mitt Romney and Sarah Palin lead a narrower field of potential rivals for the 2012 Republican Party presidential nomination, according to a poll released Thursday.

The Gallup survey is the organization's first since Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee and real estate mogul Donald Trump opted out of the slowly evolving primary race.

Romney, the former Massachusetts governor and so far the apparent front-runner, led Palin by 17 percent to 15 percent, well within the poll's 4 percentage points margin of error. Texas U.S. Rep. Ron Paul ranked third at 10 percent.

But the survey of 971 Republicans and Republican-leaning independents said 22 percent of respondents had no preference.

I can't imagine anything more fun than Palin getting the nom. Unless it was Trump. Bring it on.

Oh, it would make for good theatre, no doubt. Hundreds of reporters following her every step, waiting with baited breath for her to say something idiotic so they can pounce and renew their Obama-love affair.

But history has shown that extremists don't do well in national elections. See, Goldwater, Barry. Just too large of a voting base to fool 'em all. I'm mildly surprised she doesn't run off to some ultra-conservative state, get elected to the Senate (a much more attainable goal) and mount a push for power from there (ala Hillary Clinton) rather than just be some loud-mouth TV talking head.

Bachmann likely to announce in Iowa next month...
DES MOINES – Hours after Sarah Palin announced a bus tour of the east coast that could presage a presidential campaign, Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn) told reporters here that she was likely to announce a White House campaign next month in Waterloo, Iowa.

Bachmann, who spent much of her childhood in Waterloo, wouldn’t definitively say that she would launch a bid in the eastern Iowa city, but it was clear she was only holding back to sustain a measure of suspense for the actual event.

“The announcement will be made in Iowa, and it will be made in Waterloo and we’ll give you the date and the time,” she said via speaker phone to a room full of reporters in a hotel conference room here.

Bachmann was slated to speak to a Polk County GOP dinner, but remained in Washington, D.C., to vote on an extension of the Patriot Act.

Make no mistake: Obama would boatrace Pawlenty in Minnesota.

You people really need to get up to speed.

"T-Paw" is how he shall be called, and if you don't believe me, check out the "Meet T-Paw" bio on his official site:

    http://www.timpawlenty.com/bio

Also, in case you didn't know, he played hockey. And he's been to the Minnesota State Fair, too. Read the bio. Funny, no mention of Jon Grunseth.

And before I go, Minnesota has a long history of electing Republican Senators and Governors. Presidential elections go the other way.

Word on the street is that encouraged by the support fellow Minnesotans Bachmann and T-Paw have received, the toupee of Harold Stassen is ready to formally announce a run for the 2012 nomination.

Michelle Bachmann almost makes Sarah Palin look normal by comparison. Or is it the other way around?

What does that have to do with what you said? Fox News wouldn't want the Republican candidate to get steamrolled yet they are the ones giving Palin a podium. What you said earlier is just simply wrong. Yes Obama supporters talk about Palin but if it wasn't for Fox News she would have nearly as many headlines because she wouldn't be on national television nearly as much.

Fox seems to be promoting an agenda more than a person. Besides, now they'll get exclusives when (1) she announces she's running and (2) when she announces she's dropping out.

Somewhere, there's a GOP insider who's become a borderline alcoholic since that fateful August day in 2008 when he suggested "let's get McCain to put this woman on the ticket". Nevermind that prior to that, her name was known to maybe 2 percent of Americans, at best. What a monster they created.
