Longshoremen in Washington dump grain in railroad yard in labor dispute.

The Tea Party should love this.

The Tea Party bases its existence on the Boston Tea Party, which did this exact same thing.

But they will denigrate those who actually, you know, do this exact same thing.

If you bothered to read the wire stories, you'd see that the longshoremen in question also destroyed property and assaulted security guards and held them hostage for two hours. I've never heard of that happening at a Tea Party rally. And why isn't someone in jail for kidnapping?

Union on Union crime. Will the Tea Party care?

Even more like the actual Boston Tea Party. Founding father Samuel Adams would be proud.

If only today's Tea Party pretenders (the Astroturf groups and their supporters) could emulate the Sons of Liberty.

Exactly. What, you thought the original Tea Partiers asked politely to board the ships?

But, did Samuel Adams bring the beer? (Hey, somebody had to ask!)

Apples and oranges. The original Tea Party ... the one more than 200 years ago ... was about throwing off a tyrant. In this country, with the freedoms that those people fought for, there's no excuse for violence against other people (including police officers and security guards who, like the longshoremen, are there trying to put food on their families' table).
I eagerly await arrests for assaulting the police and holding the private security guards hostage.

Another modern Tea Party revisionist history lesson. The British government eliminated tariffs on imported tea. A funny story, since the British cut taxes.

    Read on.

And in this isolated case, you will note that the man involved was arrested. Again, I wait eagerly for news that any of the longshoremen (500 in the story linked above, as opposed to a few guys in the story you dredges up) have been arrested for assaulting police and kidnapping.

Nice try. That all you got?
