Locker room material?

    Yeah, I had one team in the playoffs who had instructed all their players to say "I have to go now, I have to get to work" after their games, declining interviews even though I knew they weren't working anywhere. I finally got one player to admit they'd been told to do so.

    That coach got turfed though, and the next guy doesnt' worry too much about access, so it's been great.

    Then, on a rival team, we had a coach once who would make those proclamations like "nobody will beat my team," and "I don't care about the first round, all I care about is the final."

    Of course, his team got beaten, and though I agree outside sources shouldn't be a factor, I think his quotes in the newspaper helped.
