Live! from the AWSM Convention

Discussion in 'Journalism topics only' started by PaperDoll, May 18, 2007.

  1. Me and FuerteJ had a great time at the Kennedy site last time through Dallas. Good times. Thumbs UP.

Also, check out the Dallas Holocaust Museum.

If only the convention were pushed back to June ... May is a busy, busy month in my neck o' the woods.

It's quite an important association to be involved with. Once knew a male sports editor who said one of the best things he did in his tenure as SE was to join and actively recruit from AWSM.

Long.... but a hell of a pickup line paragraph nonetheless.

    Well done, Brett.

    Greetings all -

Joanne Gerstner, chair of AWSM's board here. Wanted to thank everybody who came to the Dallas convention, which was a rousing success. And special thanks to those like Dave Kindred, who shared his passion and wisdom with us. (And Dave, you and Mr. Barry looked just fine at our banquet. Understated elegance...and your feet didn't kill from the heels...)

For those who are interested, our 2008 convention is Feb. 8-11 in Miami. Earlier because of the Olympic-related events leading up to Beijing.

And one last note, look for the exciting relaunch of awsmonline.org in the coming weeks. Convention info, and many other things will be on there. Our new website is nothing short of amazing. Those at the convention got a sneak peek.

Thanks - and if anybody has AWSM questions, email me at AWSMchair@aol.com

    Joanne :) :)

The annual AWSM convention is amazing, I've been to several over the years in St. Louis, Cleveland and Milwaukee.

I have no doubt Dallas was a blast.

I only have one question: A chair can talk?
