pretty f'n ridiculous. yes i wasn't there but have to agree with Hank that it's hard to imagine she was paying attention if she got hit in the face with a ball thrown back by the catcher. pretty much every little league field has bleachers that are close to the field. maybe she'll be happy if she gets her money and everyone's property taxes go up a couple thousand so they can make the field safer.

This woman should be sentenced to a bus ride with upstate New York middle school kids.

Here's a more complete version of the story, which doesn't add a whole lot, but it seems like the kid's dad has a decent grip on reality.

She's not worthy of being hired as a school bus monitor. I'd just want to see her ride the bus.

Why is everyone in this thread so sure the toss was "accidental"? The first allegation is for "intentional and reckless" behavior. Perhaps we should wait until the full set of facts from both sides come out before passing judgment.

The incident took place two years ago. If the kid did it on purpose, the woman should have pressed charges right away.

Have you read the wording in the lawsuit? It's stupid and needs to be tossed out.

They filed the lawsuit only after trying to settle.

"Lloyd, who was watching her son play, was sitting at a picnic table 5 feet from the fenced-in bullpen area, which is down the third base line. She suffered multiple fractures."

Multiple fracture from a ball thrown by an 11-year-old? Kid must have a cannon for an arm!
