One of our local teams, the Snow Canyon Softball Juniors (13-14), just earned a spot in the World Series, which begins Sunday at Kirkland, Wash.

We are looking for a freelancer to cover the tournament. We would prefer the same person covering all games, but we are flexible.

    Here is the schedule:

    Sunday: 5:30 p.m.
    Monday: 2 p.m.
    Tuesday: 2:45 p.m.
    Wednesday: 5:45 p.m.

If they finish in the top two in their pool (there are two five-team pools), they would play in a semifinal on Friday, Aug. 21. The final is the 22nd.

We will pay $50 per article. We are also looking for photos, so if you can do both all the better. We will add $ for photos.

If interested, contact sports editor David Cordero at dcordero@thespectrum.com or call 435-674-6271.
