    Lions hire Tennessee defensive coordinator

Now he can hire a QB, a defense, an offensive line, a defense, a kick returner, a defense, not draft a receiver and oh, did I mention, a defense.

    Vince Young?
He's gonna stay with the Titans.
    Collins would go.

This is a job with a lot of upside.

You can't lose. If you go 1-15, you've improved them. If you go 7-9, they'll have a parade.

I think they'll go with Stafford, but Oher or Andre Smith are possibilities as well.

If they keep the pick, which they should not, I think you have to go with Smith.

I wonder how many times this job was turned down before the offer went out to Schwartz.

I think it's a tossup between Smith and Oher. Neither one is far off from Jake Long of last year and one will get grabbed by the Rams at No. 2.

Both are much safer selections than Stafford.

Schwartz has seen Vince Young every day. He won't make the mistake of taking that headcase.

I'd have thought they'd be reduced to looking for media peeps to become the next Marty Hurney.

The only job I can think of that'd be almost as bad is the coaching gig in Oakland.
