    One step further, Starman.

Wipe clean EVERYTHING Millen ever touched in that office. New paint job, new desks, new chairs.

    Edit/Update:

Marinelli's magnificent coaching staff had a grand total of Nineteen (19) members.

    Monday, Four (4) were terminated.

One of the MOST incompetent (a highly-competitive title) was specifically reassigned, implying he will in fact return (implying also an attempt will be made to force him upon the new head coach, whoever that desperate godforsaken idiot may turn out to be -- undoubtedly a great selling point for highly-qualified prospects).

    All. You. Need. To. Know.

5000 fans per game next year might be pushing it.

Why stop at 0-16? Go for the ultimate perfect season, 0-4 preseason AND 0-16 regular season.

  4. So Is Wayne Fontes the greatest coach in Lions history?

    Sad.

    Sad.

    Buddy Parker won back-to-back NFL championships...in 1952 and '53.

I agree that you get a mix of solid rookies and decent veterans on the offensive and defensive lines and things begin to look up. Until you have a respectable offensive line, it doesn't matter WHO the quarterback is. All Detroit fans should know that.

Don't waste a high draft pick on another quarterback (Andre Ware, Joey Harrington) unless you are going to commit to him over the long haul and be prepared to take your lumps with him like the Cowboys did with Aikman and the Colts did with Manning.

Oh, and yes, Sam Bradford is a product of the system, just like Ware and Harrington were. Nowhere close to being a starting NFL quarterback.

Harrington was genuinely bright, talented and charming in a way most of these meatheads aren't and aren't ever going to be. Whether he was made to throw a football is another question.

    Three?

Calvin Johnson is a great player. After that there are couple of good players, and I'm not sold yet on Smith.

Not sold on Smith either. Especially after the stupid penalty he took, which took his team out of field goal range late in the game Sunday. Not that it would have made a difference, but good players can't make those stupid decisions like that.

During my dealings with Harrington in the NFL, he was a miserable bastard. Maybe Detroit did that to him, I don't know. Maybe Oregon putting a billboard of him up in Times Square did it to him.
