It's not about one woman affording contraception, and the original poster knows it; however, I'm delighted yet another old white male from the right wing is vocalizing his opinion on the issue. I hope his side continues to keep the country's voters focused on it.

As I said (and everyone avoided), for every one that boycotts, there are six standing in line to take its place.

A "gift." Yeah - assuming she is on scholarship, which we have no idea - they just hand that money out to people.

If she's on scholarship, it's not like she's got $47,000 a year in her pocket to spend now. Otherwise, she would be taking out loans. You can't really work while you're in school - there are strict rules about how many hours you could work even if you wanted to - so her only source of income, presumably, is through a student loan living stipend. The figure that one can borrow for that is set by each school, and it essentially requires a student to live on less than a first-year sports writer's salary. In Washington, D.C.

Surely that depends entirely upon the momentum of the boycott.

Of course, all of this is a red herring to distract us from the real issue: Rush Limbaugh called her a "slut." How much she is or isn't paying for her education is of no consequence. It doesn't justify it. It doesn't even mitigate it.

Found it interesting that in the Blunt Amendment, any employer could not provide insurance with contraception on the basis of their beliefs.

So technically, an employer could drop coverage for males if the insurance covered Viagra if the employer objected to sex outside of marriage, or sex for older people that wasn't for the purpose of procreation.

Hell, if the employer is a Jehovah's Witness who objects to blood transfusions and blood tests, they could drop insurance coverage that covers those health-related items.

But of course, the Repubs didn't think of THAT.

I'm in law school, and I'm fucking broke, so yeah.

Well, when you claim to spend $3,000 a year on contraceptives, you've pretty much stepped into "slut" territory. In fact, you've stormed the gates.

It's an absolutely absurd argument by Tony, meant to provoke and accomplish little else. The broke college student is one of America's most enduring - and generally accurate - stereotypes. Which he knows.

Do you think that you have to take more pills if you have more sex with more people?

Of course you don't think that.

Here is what you did think: "What can I type that will get people riled up the most?"

And yet you've managed not to ask other people to pay for your fucking supplies.

    Are you against ... insurance?
