So in a fair, fraud-free 2008 election, McCain would have won?

This purports that there is a discernible perspective right?

The vans of voters being nursemaided to the polls has been documented numerous times. So have the Black Panther intimidation tactics.

No. But they didn't need to risk the scattered efforts to do it dirty.

The phenomenon happens on both sides to some extent, but understand that, with conservatives, it's coordinated because it literally owns most of the radio station and the air waves. That large-scale control of radio creates the ability to produce propagandized news without the remotest threat of losing in the ratings game. In many markets, it's all you can listen to. There is no alternative to it. There's no MSNBC. There's Hannity on one station, O'Reilly on another, some local conservative voice on a third, and a down-the-line kook on the fourth.

They're all for the same things. Against the same things. And they all mysteriously hawk buying gold and hiring tax loophole experts. Alan Colmes, a mealy-mouthed liberal, has a show on Clear Channel, and you ought to hear - it's nothing but lunatic conservatives calling in to argue with Colmes!

I mean, when I say coordinated, I mean coordinated. Is it coordinated on the liberal side? Is Rachel Maddow hawking the same products as Chris Matthews?

Since it's been documented numerous times, perhaps you'd like to provide some evidence, rather than just throwing random crap against the wall and then insisting that it's true if it's not refuted. And if your evidence doesn't include Newsmax and similar organizations, so much the better.

The Telecommunciations Act of 1996 which allows for cross-ownership in media is a huge part of the present situation. Media consolidation is a vexing fact of life in journalism and Ben H. Bagdikian's work on the subject is first-rate.

Good point. I think people here think I'm talking politics. I'm talking media. It's more equation than persuasion.

Not to mention there's nothing wrong with driving people to the polls. Much as the Uberclass Party might prefer it, car ownership is not a prerequisite for voting.

Although Koch and Co. will probably try to ram through some bill that you must own a car newer than 3 years old to be allowed to vote.

Wow, if they rammed that through, I'd definitely be screwed. Except that my polling place is IN my apartment complex!

damn it. I'm a member of the media and I did nothing today to further the Muslim socialist agenda. I knew there was something I forgot.
