Leyritz drinking and driving again

Something I did not know until I read the AP story:

So, the lady he killed was drunk as well. Not that that makes it OK, but it does change things a bit.

 

This was the bit that got me in the AP story ...

 

Actually, no, it changes nothing.

 

I'm sorry, but the only acceptable number of registered alcohol incidents is zero.

 

Well, she was drunker than he was.

 

And yet somehow she managed to not run a red light and kill someone.

 

I kind of agree with you. It doesn't make Leyritz any less of a d-bag, and it certainly doesn't absolve him ... but also, it's not like he ran over an innocent bystander. The victim was driving a loaded weapon, too. For all we know she could have been on her way to killing a family of four in a minivan.

Doesn't mean she "deserved" it, or anything like that. But it could be that she was just as complicit in her death as Leyritz was.

That said, again, fry him.

 

I thought the same thing. He has a very serious problem. They need to keep him behind bars until the case is resolved so he doesn't hurt anyone else.
And I don't think the fact the victim was drunk changes anything. He's the one who caused the crash.

 

My God, haven't Leyritz and Denny Neagle ever heard of a taxi?

(Neagle's name has popped up in the DUI/courts listings of my hometown paper a couple times in the past year ...)

 

Is he still picking up prostitutes for $25 hand jobs, too?

 

I'm sure they're the Free State's finest, if so.
