Letter from my bank

Did anyone else get a letter from their bank in the last day or so that said the debit card system had been compromised and they were mailing out new cards and pin numbers?
I go to a small bank, but it is part of a larger system for the debit cards and that was the one that got hacked.
I didn't see anything in the paper and seems like a big deal.
The letter said to monitor my account, to keep an eye on transactions and report anything unusual. Also, any regular payments made by card would have to change.
    So suck it electricity company.

Do you mind informing us which bank? I recently moved and sometimes my mail delivery is spotty, so maybe I just haven't gotten my letter.

my bank is a small, local credit union but the debit card network is called TJX Companies.

I also had this happen years ago.

Nothing bad ever came of it, for me anyway.

At my bank if they don't say hello, you get $100.

I got a similar letter. There have been some stories in the news about the situation. Basically, it is the result of the parent company of TJMaxx and Marshalls and the like being hacked. If you used your debit card at one of those stores, that's probably why you got the letter and will get a new card.
