We white males have run the show for 200 or 400, or however many years.

If this just happens to be the 20-year span when things start to turn around, it's just tough shit for us. It is what it is. Deal with reality.

wasn't a study just released on all of this. The topic was even recently posted on the APSE website. And since this study, I think there have only been only three noteworthy changes in the findings.

Sounds like you just did a shitty job of checking credentials and judging personality.

The only thing that gets me is that religious minorities don't count. So if you're Jewish, we don't care. But if you're black, let's talk.

    Aren't they both minorities?

As far as age discrimination, it's out there. MEs like to hire cheap young people. That's how I got my break. Sorry old farts.

Yeah, I was laid off once while a minority kept a job. Yeah, I was bitter, mostly because I lost my income. Is it fair? No, but what is? But instead of crying to mama, I found another job.

Things like this happen, but it's tough shit. The best you can do is move on and find something else.

I just kind of think that it's sad that in a profession where the words we write are everything, the color of our skin sometimes means just as much. When we write, it's all one color.
