  1. Did Brian Giles really have five home runs last week?

I was shocked as well. Back-to-back two home run games.

Question (to which I don't know the answer): When was the last time a MLB team didn't have a player on its roster with 20 home runs?

The Orioles' leading HR man is Melvin Mora - with 13. They have 89 HRs as a team. Welcome to 1943.

p.s. Eric Bedard had better get a lot of Cy Young Award votes.

And the Orioles play in a bandbox, right?

The M's signed Vidro as a gap hitter, and until the past couple of weeks all he could manage was singles and GIDP's. So what do the Orioles do? Go after Adam Dunn? (Hmmm, I wonder whether Peter Angelos could be persuaded to take a look at Richie Sexson...)

I hope, for their sake, there are a few power hitters in the Orioles' farm system. I can't fathom why the M's aren't stacking up left-handed power, for example, given the way fly balls act in Safeco Field.

Not sure if they were the last, but the Cardinals were notorious for their lack of power during the Whiteyball era. They last didn't have anyone go for twenty in '90 and '91, when they hit 68 and 73 respectively for the entire season as a team.

They also didn't have a 20 HR player in '82-84 and '86. Of course, they did win the Series in '82, so not having a 20 guy doesn't preclude having success.

2005 Padres did not have a 20-HR hitter.. Ryan Klesko led with 18
And they won the NL West at 82-80

Joe Morgan is all-knowing and all-powerful. Just ask him.

John Buck leads the Royals with 16; Alex Gordon is next with 10. As a team, the Royals have 76 home runs.

But Gordon's 10 all came in garbage time

Kind of like the rest of the Twinkies season, Zeke.
