    I think I owe the Mets fans on this board an apology for writing them off. The dog-ass Phillies have enabled the Mets to get into a race they had no business getting into. But I forgot one thing ... there are no NL East teams that are any good. In fact, there are few NL teams at all that are any good.

    So mea culpa Mets fans, your poorly constructed team might just get into the playoffs after all, much to the chagrine of true baseball fans.

    I think the Mets concern themselves more with having a WS-winning team than a regular season-winning team, which might come back to haunt them again this year.
