Why do schools still pay bonuses to their coaches for making a bowl? At this point, if you miss one you should forfeit half your salary for the year.

Paying a bonus to a coach + paying for an insane amount of tickets that will never get sold to a third-tier bowl game = school's athletic department takes a bath.

Didn't think this needed a new thread, but Army is actually looking OK in the early goings against Navy. Up 10-7 after the first quarter.

Army's answered every big play with one of their own so far. Good game.

If it's close in the fourth quarter, will be interesting to see which teams feels more pressure as the 13-game winning streak is threatened.

Navy righted the ship in the second half, but it's still tight. Midshipmen up 21-17 with 12:19 left after a missed Army field goal.

Army driving with two minutes to go and throws an interception on a wide receiver pass. Yikes.

Leave it to the Army to fuck up an air strike.
Your quarterbacks don't throw passes. What makes you think the receivers can?

And then they whine about how they can't afford to pay athletes.

When did this Heisman thing go to 90 minutes? And they still couldn't fit in five finalists? I wouldn't mind it so much if it wasn't just a lot of back scratching. It doesn't help that we know exactly what most of the former winners are up to since their on TV so much.

If you saw the vote totals, it would have been a waste to have five finalists. The gap between 3 & 4 was something like 800 votes. Would have been unfair to bring Mayfield & Reynolds there thinking they had a chance to win.
