Would be a little more interesting if he was refusing a job offer that, you know, paid something.

The choices here are pretty much "No" and "Hell, no".

He was turning down an offer to return to the same job that he got fired from. That is a job that pays something.

In this instance, the company should not have fired him in the first place.

Paid barely minimum wage, something he could get anywhere. The job market for "wrongly-fired-goes-viral-on-internet" victims is usually pretty good. You can bet that whoever hires him . . . there will be a story on it. He's positive PR for his next employer, right off the bat.

You'd have to be a dozen kinds of desperate and lack any self-respect to come back to the old job now.

Nurse: Doctor, there is a man hit in the street by a car. Will we go out and help him?

Doctor: Nurse, we cannot leave our post. Rules are rules.

In a related note, you guys see the Philly firefighter who saved a woman and is being investigated for his heroics?

    From the above story:
If I was this guy's lieutenant or chief and a department administrator tried to interview him at the hospital, I'd quickly and sternly escort him out. There's plenty of time for that all-important sit down at another time. However minor, he's in the hospital for a reason other than hearing how someone who wasn't there thinks he should do his job when rescuing a person.
