The wild card in all of this is what Leno does. Lame as he is, he draws an audience and he'll be a factor if he signs with someone else.

So, one more year until it's funny again?

Sorry, I don't get the appeal with Conan. I don't think the man is funny. Of course, I'm not much of a Leno fan either.

Fallon takes over late night in 2009? First I've heard of that.

I'm not a huge Conan fan, but he's 1,000,000X better than Leno.

NBC announced it a couple of months ago.

Good. I'm not that far behind, then. That should be interesting. It's hard to imagine him sitting still in a chair for more than an hour on a nightly basis.

It's even harder to imagine anyone wanting to watch him for that long.

The issue isn't if Leno is really that funny (Headlines is, the monologue is hit and miss, and most of the interviews and comedy performance bits, esp. with Gottfried and Willard) are awful). But he does have a loyal audience, and Conan has not really gone over super well when he's been on the show. This is no sure bet for NBC.

Lots of speculation that ABC's going to ditch Nightline and put Leno on opposite the Tonight Show. That would just be odd.

Why watch any of em with the Daily Show and Colbert Report out there?

Conan should have a sidekick when he moves to the Tonight Show: Little Jay Leno!
