    I know. But they think they're being good Catholics by abstaining from red meat -- and gorging themselves on seafood that day. That isn't even close to the spirit of the law on that one.

    funniest thing I read all day ... my girlfriend (who is a devote catholic) just gave me the evil eye after I laughed out loud and explained to her why

    Can't tell you how many times I've gotten a similar eye after telling jokes that include condoms, choir boys and braces.
    That said, whether you're catholic or not, I think the premise of Lent is a great one.

    Agreed on the premise. The execution is what gets a little shaky on occasion, but like the road to hell, the road to heaven is also paved with good intentions.
