    My point is: How long do black players have to go out of their way to avoid the stereotype of Stepin Fetchit, who few people today have probably even heard of?

    What possible justification is there for bringing it back?

    The person Stepin Fetchit isn't the issue as much as the notion that black people get so happy they just can't help themselves from breaking into a stupid dance.
