Dean's probably negotiating a takeover of many smaller areas surrounding the big city for now.

Cripe, Dean is performing a pinser movement, attempting to destory externally in the east and internally in the west.

Can Singleton perhaps downsize and slice the staffing in that East Coast storm? Given his efficiency for destroying newspapers, he could have that storm reduced to a raindrop in no time flat ...

We're going to Barbados! And then we're going to the Virgin Islands! Puerto Rico and Hispanola! We're going to Miami! And then we're going to New Orleans to reverse all the damage Katrina and Bush did to it! YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

Amen, brother. Amen. My front yard looks like a wheat field and the Yellow Jackets and hummingbirds are waging war over the nectar in the feeder.

No, he'll just destroy everything in its wake.

It wouldn't be Singleton if he didn't.

If you extend the arc of Dean's projected path, the Keys and Pensacola should watch out. But if it traverses Cuba lengthwise, that'll weaken the storm considerably.

Even a major hurricane hitting Cuba is like water off a duck's back. Say what you will, but that's one thing the Cubans get right.

Hispanola kills hurricanes. Unfortunately, hurricanes return the favor.

It's threatening, but it's not doing a whole lot so far. Even the folks down in Ka'u, who were supposed to get the worst of it, are saying there's wind with little precipitation.

The rain bands are supposed to roll into town any minute.
